Yes! One thing I definitely love is some cheesy, ridiculous Tony heroics -- and between this opening and the amusement park rescue, Tales of Suspense #57 is certainly not lacking in such feats.

However -- I have to admit I'm even more captivated by the not-so-stealth romance mag Stan slipped in with the superhero story. Like I said on Facebook, I'm the biggest girl.

Let's begin first with Tony once again reflecting on his mandatorily lonely existence:

So Tony decides he's going to help Happy get a date with Pepper instead. But there's one problem:

Miscommunications! Crossed wires! Hurt feelings! I don't normally get jazzed by stuff like this -- but somehow, if Tony's involved, I dig it. Honestly, I don't really know why.

Naturally, Tony's unplanned date with Pepper is interrupted by some Iron Manning (see also: the remark above about the amusement park rescue). Thus, Tony decides he should take Pepper out again to make it up to her:

This of course gives Tony another opportunity to reflect on his unrequited love:

Unfortunately, when he catches up with Pepper:

Yep: did you guess Tony would miss his chance? Of course you did! And thus the love triangle drama continues...

Bonus:

This bit just made me laugh. That's what happens when you're the main character in a superhero comic, Tony! Sorry, hon, but I don't make the rules.
