Iron Man #27 - which introduces Firebrand, a violent left-wing radical who's presented as profoundly wrong-headed (ahem) - is an interesting issue that, once again, reveals the difference between the "political" comics of the Bronze Age versus the "political" comics of today. Said issue acknowledges the necessity of consulting the local community before launching so-called "urban renewal" projects and argues forcefully that black neighborhoods don't need white saviors -- but also respects Tony's good intentions and presents him as someone willing to listen to criticism. It's liberal -- but adult and balanced. I highly recommend it.
