I'm sure you've caught on by now that Tony is an emotional dude. He has a temper. He reacts to things -- sometimes violently. This is one reason why control is so very important to him -- because he knows what happens when he loses it. He knows a loss of control brings forth his berserker (or, in later issues, his inner drunk). (Again, this is from Iron Man #103.)
