Yes: sometimes, Tony just wants to lay down the burden of his guilt and responsibility and eff off to some comfortable retreat. That's why, at times, he says that he hates Iron Man -- because in addition to being a reminder of his trauma and vulnerability, Iron Man is also the physical manifestation of his conscience. (#104)
